This highlights the standard of our phonic teaching through the Read, Write programme.
In November 2011, St Edward's was awarded Model School Status for the Read, Write Inc phonics and writing programme. This is in recognition of the outstanding work the school has done with this programme and the outstanding results and progress made by the pupils undertaking the scheme, which we use in Foundation, KS1 and as an intervention programme. This status means that we will be able to offer training and consultation to other scholls and will be held up as an example of good practice in this area.
